sIBERIAN bREED iNFORMATION

The Siberian is considered a medium breed. Females can range from 8lbs-13lbs.  Males can range from 10lbs-20lbs. Siberians are slow to mature and take five years to fully develop.  Their coat is medium to long hair with very dense triple layers. They have a long bushy tail which they carry with pride. Their round eyes can vary in color from green to gold shades.  Colorpoints will always have blue eyes.   Siberians are easygoing and affectionate, getting along well with other animals and with children. They have a loud purr and make a chirping sound when they come to greet you. They will seek out your attention and will not know a stranger when guest come to visit. They are very smart and observant problem solvers. They enjoy playing with toys and learning tricks. They will follow you around and seek out companionship. 

 At Signature Siberians, we understand how important it is to find a pet that fits comfortably into your home—especially for families who experience allergies. Siberian cats are often described as more allergy-friendly because they may produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein in their saliva, which is the primary allergen associated with cat allergies.

That said, no cat is truly hypoallergenic, and individual reactions can vary significantly from person to person. While many people with mild to moderate cat allergies report fewer or less severe symptoms with Siberians, we cannot guarantee that an allergic reaction will not occur.

Some studies and breeder observations suggest that female Siberians may produce less Fel d 1 than males, and that spaying or neutering may help reduce allergen levels. For this reason, some allergy-sensitive families choose a female kitten and discuss spay timing with their veterinarian.

Because individual reactions can vary, we recommend that anyone with allergies or asthma consult their physician before bringing a kitten home.
